(gasps for breath…)
Hey all, it’s me, Brian Gardner, the one who owns this blog. You may have noticed a total lack of posting on my site of late, and for that I blame the Writers Guild of America Strike. (that was a joke, you should be laughing now…)
In all seriousness, I apologize for my absence, although I’m pretty sure I forewarned you all that it was a possibility. Not only have the past two weeks been filled with celebrating the holidays, it’s been stuffed with leaving my dayjob, playing daycare daddy and also trying to organize the launch of my new business.
Fortunately for me, next week really begins my first stab at this design gig that I left my very secure and awfully spoiling (Starbucks supplied for us everyday) job of mine. I’ve pretty much been incognito online, but trust me, I’ve been doing things that will be seen in the foreseeable future.
One of the biggest things I have been involved with lately is the development/planning of a major premium theme website called iThemes.com with one of my best friends Cory Miller – you can read all about that on his post and you can go there now to sign up and be the first to know when the site is launching. In fact Cory and I have spent about 20 hours the past two days here in Chicago brainstorming about this project.
Aside from that, there’s still a ton on the horizon for me – the continued growth of the Revolution Theme Support Forums (which has over 2000+ posts in the first month), the development of my personal blog Shadowfeet, and an upcoming free theme release.
Great news Brian! Can’t wait to see what develops!
Thanks Tracy, I’m pretty excited about the upcoming months!
I hope you have a very successful 2008!
Thanks for the use of “Vertigo Red”. It’s a very nice pretty professional theme…and my readership has tripled since I started using it. Coincidence? I think not.
Hmmm.. I see your writing your own jokes now.
I prayed may we be always to better,
Thanks Brian
Good to see you back Brian and congratulations on a fantastic name. iThemes is a great domain name. I think you’ve got a winner here.
Marsha, that’s fantastic news to hear about your readership and how it has increases – congrats!
Mike, yeah, I’m a better designer than I am jokester, so I apologize for it being so lame!
Muslim, thanks!
Ashley, thanks as well – we are happy with the name that we ended up with and look forward to offering a fantastic place for people to purchase enhanced WordPress themes!
Brian. I recently purchased your Revolution Theme and have just discovered all your other WP themes – superb, its made my day – you are truly the WP Theme master!
We know your starting your new venture now and sounds like your keeping very busy indeed. Glad your doing well. How does it feel now waking up and not rushing out the door? I bet your loving it and your family is too!!
Brian – Glad to see some new words; your site has become one of those I visit each morning. Hey, I totally understand about being too busy to update your public persona. One of the downsides of working for yourself is you become a very convenient sitter for the kids.
The other is you are so busy establishing your work, blogging tends to slide for a bit — I know mine has.
Great to hear about ithemes – I’m totally for the niche you and Cory are filling for the affordable professionally-designed theme.
I’d been wondering where you’ve been. I figured you were already full up on freelance work (which you were, sorta). Can’t wait to see where you are at this time next year!
Cool. So, now I can just wait for the free theme and not buy the Revolutions theme. Nice.
As you can see, everyone is a comedian
Wow…love the new look! I see you’re taking things to a whole new level. Well done.
Love the new design! Love the logo/header too!
It seems like 2008 will be a very busy year for you Brian. All the best and God bless!
