Over the course of this past year, I have really tried to focus my blogging on design, and other things related to the internet. I have to admit, however, that it’s fun to look back and reminisce, so here’s an excerpt from my very first blog post:
Shelly and I have become entrenched in the TV show Grey’s Anatomy and recently watched all 27 episodes of Season 2 over the course of one weekend. Contrary to what you might be thinking right now, yes, we do have a life. I’ll call it good parenting, because all Zach said that weekend was “watch the doctor show, pwease….â€Â
So we obliged.
I thought it would be fun for us all to link to our very first blog post, so you can do so by leaving a comment. Keep in mind, I will “seek and destroy” all spammy links.
Check out my very first blog post, called “You Know You are Addicted When…”

Hi Brian
It’s funny you posted this, I had no idea you were nearing your anniversary date but yesterday I went through and read all your posts, beginning to end. (Like I had nothing else to do) Quite interesting how they have changed and led up to the point your at now. As for my first post, I need to hunt for it! But yours were fun to read….
Brian — All I can say is: oh, what fun is in store for your wife and yourself when your son grows older. I won’t spoil the surprise.
Deborah, sorry you put yourself through the torture of reading all of my posts - I’m sure you got sick of reading 1/2 of them, as they were about rebooting my site!
Ed, thanks, he’s a knucklehead (albeit the cutest little kid) right now - and I will forewarn all parents that the terrible two’s a are a piece of cake compared to the treacherous threes.
Brian: Add the terrifying teens (also known as how you became instantly dumber than a rock and best friends with the dinosaurs.) Sorry, didn’t mean to hijack the topic.
Ed, you and my friend Howie should talk - he’s got a teenage daughter.
Another great idea by Brain Gardner. Here’s mine: http://roadturn.com/2007/06/29/a-breath-of-fresh-air/
Funny that this should come up now - I was just looking back through my older articles since I just hit my 100th post. I was curious to see how my writing has evolved in the 1.5 years since I started blogging. I’d like to think that I’ve become more personal over time. Anyway, here’s my first post - Blog Day 1 - An Explanation and a Dedication
Wow. MIne is rubbish. My first post is a simple comment on the new (now old) digg design lmao.
Digging the New Design by Game Makker.
Yes laugh if you wish.
Well this isn’t too hard for me! I’ve only been blogging just over a month now. I’ve been in the blogosphere reading other’s blogs since about May 07 and right from the start I made friends with Tara, David and Vivien (Inspiration Bit) and they started asking when I would start my own blog. That explains the post’s title: And Now, The Moment You’ve All Been Waiting For…
Wow, thanks for all the links so far - great stuff! Lauren, wow, only a month so far huh? Happy 1 month!
I just love the titles of people’s first posts, it’s fun to see what other people call them!
Brian,
It appears that when I switched my domain name I did a fresh install of WP. Even at that time my blog was still very personal. So my first blog post looks a bit out of whack. Although here it is:

I think my first blog was a little on the wacky side, not knowing how to “blog” properly you don’t know, do you? Nice weblog by the way Brian.
It is nice article! Thanks, good info!
