In my opinion, every weekend should be four days. It’s funny how the more time off you have, the less you actually get done. At least productive stuff. As most people did, I had a four day weekend, and you’ll see how much (or little) I actually did.
Call me a typical north shore yuppie, but we had Starbucks four times this weekend. Yes, we performed our weekend ritual every morning of this little vacation. Count ‘em, four toffee nut lattes in four days. That’s twelve shots of espresso, sixteen dollars and some change later. Priceless.
Spent over three hours putting up Christmas lights. And that doesn’t include the time I spent putting up our new tree, of which Shelly hung 95% of the ornaments, as I was outside performing my Clark Griswold impression. And the sad thing, is that I’m still not done.
Watching six hours of football on Thursday wasn’t enough. So I had to watch another three or four on Saturday, and then of course the typical nine hours of Sunday football. I am an NFL junkie, and I don’t even have the NFL package. Imagine that.
Last, but not least, Shelly and I spent the remainder (actually majority) of our Turkey Day weekend engaged in a Grey’s Anatomy-a-thon. A few weeks ago, she told me that she wanted to get into that show, and I gave the following ultimatum. The only way I’d allow her to do that, is if I could be involved, and if we watched every episode up until the current one. And that is exactly what we did.
Over the past week, we not only viewed the nine episodes of Season One, we just finished up the twenty seven episodes of Season Two. Yes, that is a fact. We watched 2160 minutes (actually 1512 realtime minutes) of Grey’s Anatomy to catch ourselves up to snuff on what’s happening on the show. And the beautiful thing is that in a few weeks, ABC will re-run the first ten episodes of Season Three, before they continue on. For those of you who watch the show, you can appreciate that. Seriously.
