Well it came two weeks earlier than expected, and for any of you who know me, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Revolution WordPress theme is now available for purchase and download!
I was inundated with requests yesterday to make the theme available, so that is exactly what I am doing. What I am planning to do is take into consideration the comments that were left yesterday, and apply them as “extras” on the theme’s extras page.
For instance, Dalene’s request for a single page which includes 3 columns, space appropriately for Google AdSense ads can easily be put onto the extra page as a single file download. When I realized that I could address these requests and still release the theme, I knew it was time for liftoff.
Now for the disclaimer. Nothing in life that is built from scratch will work 100% the first time out, which means that I would really appreciate feedback and reports of bugs on the theme’s support page. I have checked the demo site out in Firefox, Internet Explorer 6 & Internet Explorer 7, and haven’t seen any issues. All pages validate XHTML, so that’s also been addressed.
Well, it’s time to start writing some more tutorials for the theme. I look forward to seeing how the Revolution theme is used, and can’t wait to take WordPress to a higher level!
!!! I don’t know that I am the first one to make a purchase, but I came here first thing this morning (yours was the first blog I checked in with) and when I saw that you were making the new theme available TODAY, I did not hesitate clicking on the purchase button.
I really look forward to working in the new theme and developing my new website and blog — I am so happy.
because I did not want to have to code website pages by hand in Notepad and then integrate a blog within that. I like the ease of the WP publishing platform (and now for website pages Yippee!) but I think the future of blogs will include “more” than just a blog, and your new theme answers this trend perfectly. This came just in the knick of time as I plan on launching my new project August 27th. Very very cool. Thanks so much Brian. You are an extremely talented designer and generous person.
For any one considering making the purchase, I highly recommend it. The time it will save me from having to hand code webpages in Notepad are well worth the price alone, but in addition, you will get a website/blog with excellent design elements, tons of flexibility only limited by your imagination and creativity, and it can all be done within WP.
Disclosure: Before last week, when I chose to download one of Brian’s free WP themes I had not met him and do not personally know him. But in one week, I have become completely impressed with his artist’s eye for design and his talent in creating a WP theme that offers that something MORE for those interested.
I am off to play!
Dalene
Let me pick myself up off the floor Dalene, you have knocked me over with your comments. Thanks so much for taking the time to write that all out. Not so that other people can read it, but it gives me a feeling of accomplishment that I set out for – giving WP users a really cool theme, and one that can be used as a CMS solution.
I can’t wait to buy the theme. (btw, I love, love the interface to Paypal.) Brian’s themes are always understated with that it-just-works polish missing in some other gaudier designs.
Thanks Ed, like I said in yesterday’s post comments, I want something that people can use out of the box.
Wow. Very impressive. Looking forward to more of your paid themes!
On a side note, I see that your using Payloadz. If you get tired of them, check out e-junkie.com.
As you know Brian, I’ve been tweaking and adapting your themes for 6 months now, and I love your work. This new work has not disappointed either. I have a redesign project coming up in the next few months, and I will probably use Revolution as the basis.
Top work brother.
Brian, the theme can only be summed up in a few words – AWESOME JOB! As you know, I’m working on tweaking the theme to be our new auction and real estate website (http:schultzauctioneerslandmarkrealty.com). I’m been playing with the theme and love how easy you made it to tweak as well as how thorough you’ve been in coding!
Well done! This theme is well worth the price and then some! Comments from those viewing the site already have been very glowing! Thank you and keep up the great work!!
@ Armen – Thanks man, always appreciate hearing from you. And I must say that I highly recommend using Revolution for your upcoming theme!
@ John – I just dropped by your site, looking good! Glad to hear the feedback has been positive so far!
Brian,
The theme is awesome! However, I find it hard to incorporate ads in all the pages. How does the 3-column Ad-sense page work?
Catherine,
I have not coded that page template yet – however it would be pretty easy for me too, so if you really liked the theme, and wanted to purchase it, I could set up that page for you right away. Then I can add it to the “extras” page for others as well! Let me know!
What you are offering is really more than what i have anticipated from Project X.
i would love to see how it slowly grow
Congrats!!
Brian – you definitely gave this theme the right name!! This theme will revolutionize the way we think about and design blogs. I can think of at least 3-4 sites I maintain that could benefit from being moved to a CMS-based format. WordPress is so powerful, yet easy for the the average user to maintain.
It’s only a matter of time before I will be hitting that “purchase” button…
(awaits you hitting the purchase button) Thanks Char!
Hi Brian,
Best of luck with your new project launch. If the comments so far are anything to go by, you’re definitely on to a winner!
I’ve noticed that you added me to your designer friends blogroll. It’s an honour to be included, and a very nice surprise this Sunday. I hope you’re having a great weekend.
Ciao.
I intend committing for the Personal Package of Revolution but before…
…the footer line which reads:
Copyright © 2007 Revolution WordPress Theme · Revolution theme by Brian Gardner · Archives · Admin
…would be changed for something like:
Copyright © 2007 My company · Revolution theme by Brian Gardner
…with the logo “Revolution WP” appearing on the right side of the footer removed or changed for something more akin to the look and feel of our site.
Obviously, the part containing “Revolution theme by Brian Gardner” would be a link to “http://www.revolutiontheme.com/”.
Is that acceptable as a paying customer?
Otherwise, all the contents of our site would appear to be copyrighted by you which is not quite acceptable!
Please let me know and thanks for such a nice departure to the blog universe!
Gilles: The copyright statement will automatically change to reflect your site. The copyright pointed to the theme because it was a demo site.
Hi Brian, congratulations on the release of your premium theme. I was very happy to purchase a copy having used your free stuff in the past for my personal site. Anyway, I look forward to getting some good use out of it for my trailbook site. My hopes are to have separate sections for each region we have trail info on that is easy to add on/update and maybe have some ads from both online sources and/or local sources . Still figuring out the best ways to do this..
Looking forward to more tutorials and extras, I personally find the tutorials with screenshots most effective to help me understand what’s going on when I delve under the hood.
Thanks for the good work. Best wishes.
David
It’s a very nice theme. Too bad I don’t run a website that needs something like that.
How it is possible to use for WP MU?
Holy wordpress sweetness batman!
This is exactly what I wanted… EXACTLY! I almost feel like this was designed for me.
