The Good News and the Bad News
Well, I warned you that I’d be tweaking my theme, and quite honestly ended up doing it a little more than I had thought. Although I really liked the blues I had chosen, I decided I wanted my design to show a little more of my capabilities.
I found that the theme I had done was a too basic for my taste, so the bad news is that I went a whole new direction. The good news is that I will probably release that version for my visitors to download.
I’ll be making a few changes here and there to this theme, so pardon the dust. Included will be a totally customized home page, as well as a better theme/portfolio page.
Anyway, stay tuned for some yummy posts - the first of which will be entitled “How to Get Search Engine Traffic With Your Blog.”

I like the new look. Keep it up.
Nice — very, very nice. And you know that I’m supportive of the newspaper-magazine WP design. Let me know if there’s any way that I can help out. As you know, I know a thing or two about the newsprint industry.
Man Brian, I thought I was bad. I’ve managed to go almost 2 months without changing anything but the color. Love the look though, very clean. Then again, I really liked your tapestry theme, I may have to give it a try…take care.
Thanks Will, appreciate it! Howie, I’m sure I’ll be getting the email soon from you asking if you can use this theme across your network of sites!
John, yeah, I hate it when the natives in my head get restless - and I’ve noticed your site has been the same for quite some time. Hey, by the way, did you let someone else use your theme? I came across a site the other day using it…
Nice Brian, though I miss your logo. Seems even with every change, as long as you keep the same logo, your “brand” is still intact.
Love this new theme compared to the blue one!
Hi Brian. Your contact link is still not live so I’m sending you a comment. Can you send me a email so I can touch base about some custom mods to your Vertigo theme in addition to helping us with a new theme for a separate blog. Thx
Randa, I’m trying to figure out if I want to keep that logo - as much as I like it, I also am not sure it’s what I want longterm. (not like your cool logo!) Lyndon, thanks a lot, appreciate it! Brian, email sent and already received yours.
Yes, I’ve had a few people wanting to use it so I zipped up the files and sent it to them. To me, that’s part of the fun. If it gets other people thinking and gets their creative juices flowing, that’s what it’s all about.
Big improvement over the blue design, and some nice, unique details that I’m noticing. I’m with Randa on the logo though. However, I’m not aware of what’s going through your mind. There may be something better!
Brian, I’m rarely without words, but … wow! I love the new theme. It is bright, open and clean - like switching on a light compared to the previous darker themes. I love the new logo, which goes with my mantra of simplicity.

I think this looks great, Brian. I’m likely to grab the theme and make my own version if you put it up for download.
Thanks to those who’ve commented since - Jason, the theme should be released sometime next week, so check back!
Hey Brian
I have literally looked at a thousand themes I am sure. There are many nice ones out there for sure, both free and pay.
I have to tell you that in my opinion your themes are the very best!
Thank you.
Bill
Love the customized home page for your site. Reading some of the blog entries and comments - are you releasing a version of this theme to the public? Or is your “sometime next week” comment above referring to something else?
thx,
