The 411 on the Upcoming Magazine

5

I have received a lot of emails asking more about my upcoming magazine, and some of which people have expressed interest in contributing. So I decided to follow up my post with a little more information.

The online magazine will be ready for public viewing sometime in the next few days, in which I case I will post the URL here on my website. A few requirements for people wanting to contribute are a minimum of 5 posts/week, each one being between 200-400 words. I don’t want really long articles, but moreso ones that are flashy, quick to read and deliver content to readers that will bring them back.

As far as compensation goes, this is going to be a revenue sharing website. I will be placing Google AdSense ads on all post pages, and the code that is displayed will be randomly shown from a list of author’s Google AdSense ID’s. Basically this means that if you are a contributor, your ad will be shown throughout the site, and when people click on your ad, you make money.

For example, if we have 10 contributors, and our site receives 10,000 page views a day, your AdSense ads would be shown 1000 times a day. Standard click through rates across the internet are between 3-5%, which means one can expect between 30-50 clicks/day using this model as an example.

Basically, the more you write, the more you can make. The hope is to make this website a highly publicized site, getting a lot of targeted traffic. On every post you write, there will be an “About the Author” section, which will give you credit for the post, as well as provide a link to your personal website. So aside from getting money from this deal, you’ll receive exposure.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section of this thread. Thanks!

I need to do some serious brainstorming. I am really thankful for this opportunity.

    Hey Brian -

First off, your contact form wasn’t submitting for me when I’d click it - or at least it didn’t show me a “Sent” message.

Love the site, and hopefully you’ll consider me as a writer for your new mag. I’d like to know more about it. My writings include sports, the environment, technology (especially Apple) and conspiracy theories.

Let me know what you’re needing in terms of articles.

    Cheers,
    Brian

  3. Take a look at the bold paragraph before the form. :)

LOL - I’m an idiot :-) Thanks for the tip.

Just visited the magazine and clicked in her from Shelli’s place. Very well done. Are there any areas that are not being covered? I wouldn’t mind contributing if you have a need.
