As some of my faithful readers have noticed, a lot of my website is structured around my Wordpress Themes and my quest to work from home as a web designer/consultant. None of that has changed, but I wanted to forewarn those of you who frequent my site, that a lot is on the horizon.

Over the past year, there have been some really inspirational people/blogs that have motivated me (whether they knew it or not) to develop this site, and to keep it going. And I would thank them personally, but I’d have to fly all over the globe to do so. The knowledge they share via their websites has really made a difference in my life, and in my internet endeavors. It’s time to give back.

Anyway, within the next few weeks, I will be adding a lot more content - things that might seem different. I love to write, and would love to share the knowledge I have encountered and am blessed to have. I will also start blogging about some other random topics, so the actual “blog” part of my website will become much more diversified. (i.e. categories)

So if you start seeing some posts about the new iPhone, or who’s in the top 24 of American Idol, the reasoning behind that is simple. I want to write about the things that interest me.

Now, I realize those of you that come here to learn about web design might not be interested in things like Peyton Manning’s Super Bowl Victory. I will create the layout of my new site to accommodate easy navigation straight to the sections that most appeal to you.

And so gentlemen, (and ladies) start your engines…

  4. Woo Hoo…I love when things like this happen. Who comes here just to learn about web design?? No, we want details. LOL….

  6. @ Shelli - Don’t you worry, I’m bringing it on. Just need to collect the design ideas in my head, and map out how I plan to do this all.

  8. @ Jennifer - Blogs are meant to be personal, not just informative. I want to do both! :) (not to mention entertain…)

  10. Not that I found your blog lacking in good content, but I do look forward to seeing what you’ve got in store. Also, great news on the Technorati stats. That’s quite a milestone!

  12. Brian,
Many people will disagree with that line of thinking. Many “in the know” say that in order for a blogger to be successful, they need to stick to one subject.

I made the mistake of listening to these so-called “experts” and found myself juggling about five different blogs, which resulted in the dreaded blog burnout. Since then I have contemplated re-merging a couple different blogs back into one or two.

Good luck with it, I look forward to seeing the changes.

  14. I can relate to Flukeit’s comment. Once I started focusing on a particular subject, it became much easier to post on a regular — and even daily — basis. I had a blog up until recently where I tried to write about anything that came to mind. It sounded like a good idea, but covering a wide array of subjects became a chore.

It’s a personal choice, and I think a blog that covers a variety of subjects can be successful. It takes more effort, but I think there are plenty of readers out there who appreciate varied content. I’m one of them, but I just can’t do it myself.

  16. @ Brad & Rob - Thanks for the comments, and I appreciate them. My intent here is to take 5 topics that I love, and am passionate about, and use them as a basis for me to blog. Some of these topics I have tried branching off of and making their own sites, but that didn’t work. (ie what Brad said about having 5 sites.)

So, having said that, we shall see how it goes… :)

  18. Hi Brian,

I found you through some randam clicks on the 2000 bloggers project. Congratulations to you on your ranking success and desire to bring more personal meat to the table - so to speak. ;o) There’s something pretty fun about seeing your rank go up just doing what you love. I wish you all the best!

    Hugs,
    Holly
