Spilling the Beans
Ok, I’ve made some posts recently talking about some major projects that I have been involved in, and I’m ready to announce what some of them are. Without further adieu…
Over at Performancing, I’ll be releasing another four themes, more than likely two of them will be released in May, and another two in June.
I also mentioned that I will be managing one of the most popular Wordpress themes around, and I’m proud to announce that I will be managing Cutline. In addition to a lot of other blogging properties that Splashpress Media has purchased, Chris Pearson’s famous theme is one of them. So on May 1st, I will be managing the theme, and developing some CSS styles that will be made available on the site.
Lastly, I am currently developing a website that will include my blogging on a personal level. Not only will it be a place for me to share things like my poetry, spirituality and my encounters with God, it will also host a section that I am very excited about. I am planning on taking a portion of the earnings I make with my design business, and working with a non-profit organization to help feed starving children in Africa.
More details on that to come…

Cool, I’ve been thinking of using the Cutline theme, can’t wait to see what changes you make
All the best on your new site, hope you raise a lot of money for your efforts on feeding the children of Africa.
Thanks Lyndon, I appreciate it. I won’t actually be making changed to the original theme itself, rather offering additional stylesheets that will change the overall look of the theme, keeping the basic layout and functions in tact.
Brian - sounds like you have a lot of exciting new projects! Also, I just want to let you know that your themes are some of the best coded, easiest to work with themes I have used.
I am looking forward to seeing the new themes and your new blog.
Wow! This all sounds absolutely amazing. Your work is outstanding and this all should be no different.
Way to go for the kids of Africa. I look forward to your new site all together.
Char & Jennifer - thanks for the words, and yes, it’s a fun, exciting (and busy) time for me. The personal site should be online fairly soon.
Brian - You seem to be a natural choice to carry on the Cutline tradition; your Zinfandel is often compared to the theme. I look forward to hearing more about your contributions to Africa - we all need to be better at sharing the bounty.
Ed
Hey Ed, didn’t know that people compared Zinfandel to Cutline. IMO, Pearson is in a higher league. I’m curious, got any links to that? It will be a fun project for sure to work on.
Brian - No links, but Zinfandel and Cutline are often mentioned in the same breath when people (such as myself) talk about simple, elegant themes.
Congratulations on all the new, exciting projects! I seriously don’t know how you keep up with all the stuff you’re involved in. I’m impressed with the quality of everything you do.
Brian: I admire your spirit of giving and helping others in Africa.
Ok, Ed, I’ll take your word for it! Randa, thanks, it’s a fun time in my life. I don’t know how I keep up either, but I guess it’s being able to multi-task.
Steve, thanks… in all honesty, it’s more about being obedient. I clearly feel God leading me in this direction.
Brian — A question for the new keeper of the Cutline theme. I’ve come to really like Cutline, but am looking for a technology-related photo (one that can be edited to 770×140.) Any suggestions on the best source for free royalty-free images? Thanks,
Ed
Two places:
http://www.istockphoto.com/
http://www.sxc.hu/
http://www.luckyoliver.com
http://www.stockxpert.com
The photos here are only a few bucks and are good quality images.
I sell photos at http://www.bigstockphoto.com and http://www.fotolia.com . They are both places where you can get good quality royalty free for very low price. Fotolia has a free section, but I would say the images aren’t quality enough to make a headline image for your site.
I love the theme at Performancing. I am looking to implement a new one on my site (had been using FallSeason, currently using Cutline). Is the Performancing theme available, and, whether or not the answer is yes, is it based on a theme I could also modify to suit my tastes.
By they way, I also like the theme of this site.
Thank you.
