Sneak Preview #2 of New Revolution Themes

48

As promised, I’m going to follow up the sneak preview #1 of the new Revolution themes with yet another. But before I do, I wanted to announce that you can now see the photo theme in action.

Hint, take a look at the navbar on my site here, or better yet in the sidebar under “Elsewhere”. I’m launching my own personal photoblog with the theme, and you can see how it looks.

Now back to the next preview - another one of the upcoming themes to be released on the new Revolution site will be a women’s interest theme. Since a majority of my current themes are on the “masculine” side, I decided I needed to offer up a variety of styles on the new site, and am hoping this one is well received.

Here’s a sneak preview of one of the Revolution themes that will be open source - as you can see, it’s going to be ideal for women’s portals. (and if you’re looking for sneak previews from Jason, go here.)

Have you been reading my mind? I have just had a new client request a ‘beauty’ themed website, she’s a beautician, and looking at what you’ve shown here colour scheme and basic layout wise I think I might have very little work to do.

  2. Good - glad to know that this one will get used. I can’t say how many times I’ve been asked for a theme like this!

  3. Mike Smith Says:

AMAZING! This is truly amazing. I can’t wait to see the full theme.

  4. Thanks Mike, I’m doing my best to accommodate as many people and niches as I can.

  5. Dulce Says:

Looks so elegant. I’m sure it will be a blast once it will be released! Good luck, Brian.

  6. Thanks Dulce. Elegant, nice to hear the theme described with that word!

  7. dinu Says:

now that one is what I was looking for :) what about the SEO value of theme Brian ? :) just a random question

  8. Dinu, I code my themes to the best of my ability in terms of SEO.

  9. dinu Says:

thanks for the quick reply.. one more question .. my next project is a music blog … anything of that sort in the making ?

and .. hmm .. are you going to launch all these themes when the new site is open ? or one by one .. ?

  10. Laarni Says:

    Thank you!!! Patiently waiting. :D

  11. John Joubert Says:

Looking absolutely smashing! I’m really liking what I see, can’t wait to get a peek at the real deal :)

  12. Brad Potter Says:

Looking great Brian. I like the wide border around the Wrapper (instead of drop shadow graphic), makes it easy to change in style sheet. I also like the use of subtle gradients.

  13. Thanks John, the real deal is just as good as the preview!

Brad, yes, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked how to change the gradient image I’ve been using. Trying to make things easier on the user without breaking the integrity of the design.

  14. I love the look of this one - can’t wait to use it :)

  15. Brandon Cox Says:

You may have answered this elsewhere, but since you’re going open source (which inspired me to take my one semi-premium theme the same direction before selling it), are there going to be developer rights? Or is that just included in the open source license?

    Very nice preview!!

  16. Brandon, thanks. Open source by definition means that the code is available to the public - and that no restrictions per se in terms of “developer rights” can be enforced.

  17. Amy Celona Says:

AWESOME! Considering 99% of my customers are women!

  18. Susan Says:

oh wow Brian that is really an awesome theme…I love the pink RSS button!! (yes I am such a girl).

  19. Tracy Says:

Oh yeah! In the words of Paris, “That’s hot!” Great theme, Brian.

  20. Amy & Susan, figured you’d both like this!

Tracy, I get the visual of her saying that, love it!

  21. Joy Says:

    B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!! Eye candy!

  22. reb Says:

looking good, as always! :) I think this one definitely skews female without losing any of the functionality, and that’s sure to be popular.

  23. Stu McLaren Says:

    Hey Brian,

The new theme looks great. Are there certain plugins you would recommend with these themes or are you building in all the functionality yourself?

  24. Sunga Says:

    This is great. Patiently waiting

  25. Nice. This looks very similar to a site I did earlier this year. They client wanted something very relaxing and spa-like.

    http://www.rejuven8u.com/

  26. Stu, doing my best to incorporate the few plugins that are necessary. Jason’s Featured Content Gallery is still standalone.

Kevin, you did an amazing job on that site, and to be honest it WAS inspiration for the new theme. Don’t worry, I didn’t copy the site, just used the header gradients in a similar fashion, but aside from that the theme is completely different.

  27. You’ve done it again! I’m glad to know the change to open source won’t affect your creativity. Good luck.

  28. Brian, no worries my friend. I don’t have any problems at all with it.. sorry if it came across that way.

I liked the style, my client loved it and I’m sure it’s going to be a killer theme. Keep up the good work

  29. Thanks for the update Brian,

I am just wandering on how your new service price will be like

    cheers

    anton

  30. Remkus Says:

Like there was ever any doubt in my mind you would continue to create more / beautiful themes. Just saw Jason’s mock-ups as well.. look like it’s going to be a full fledged Revolution come November 1st!

    Looking forward it ;)

  31. Amit Bhatia Says:

This theme looks impressive. I have already pitched the preview to someone. Looking forward to it.

  32. Just wanted to say another round of thanks to those who have commented - I’m getting ready to head out of town early tomorrow, so just wanted to say how much I appreciate the feedback.

  33. Lynn Says:

    Kevin, rejuven8u is beautiful! Congrats

  34. Quest Says:

Brian, All I can say is this is hot!

  35. Willo Keaus Says:

I’m actually putting together a buisness plan to open my own Wellness Center - and came here today specifically to see if you had a template that might suit that sort of business better. What did I find? A sneak peak for a Women’s Interest template. I am interested in this … please let me know when you have it ready so I can take a test drive!

    Thanks!

  36. Shannon Says:

Can’t wait!!!! Encore! More on niches please. Travel, spas, health etc.

  37. John Says:

Excellent work, as always best in the business.

Brian im good at PSD design of wp themes. but have no clue about how to code them and slice em.

I’m desperately waiting for wp themes tutorials.

  38. oh wow Brian I love love love this

  39. SF Says:

    Brian,

Wow … Our team is always in awe.

What can I do to have you as my teacher? In my personal philosophy, a teacher gets the highest of all positions - and I have to tell you that you are seriously inspiring me to take a step forward towards actually getting into the nuances of coding (instead of just working at a superficial theme level).

    My heartfelt congratulations.

    Cheers,

    SF

  40. Another quick comment to say thanks to those who’ve posted so far. The theme should be available 11/1 when we launch the new site, so just hold tight and it should be available soon!

  41. MadameSoybean Says:

Hurray for girly! It’s clean edged with a softness too. LOVE this, Brian.

  42. Eftu Says:

Yes, you definitely read my mind. I’m in the middle of concepting a feminine webzine. Looking forward to it.

  43. Lynn Says:

Would love to see this theme (or similar feminine slant) also incorporate an optional video component like Jason’s TV elements. Best of both worlds!

  44. Ken Dahlin Says:

Of the previews I’ve seen, this is my favorite. The colors set such a nice mood.

  45. Gianni Greco Says:

Love the look of this theme….i have a hair beauty and fashion based blog on another theme and i am very tempted to change over to this. Keep up the great work.

  46. Dvorah Says:

    WOW Brian!
Your talent is a blessing for us.

I’m wondering how you can create such indepth beauty as open source? How will you continue to earn an income?

Or is this going to be in a line of products that will allow you to earn in other ways?

Just curious as we definitely want to support whatever you have going on.

I’m biting my fingernails and can’t wait till the launch on 11/1.

Have a wonderful time on the cruise, you deserve it.
    Appreciatively,
    D’vorah

  47. Mike Says:

Theme looks like something I am going to be able to use, I do alot of work on websites related to women.

  48. David Says:

I hope your cruise vacation was both physically and spiritually refreshing, especially with s*n*o*w in the forecast already here in northern Michigan!

Will having a “featured video” be an option in the sidebar (where Google ads are shown in the screen shot)? It’s so nice to have that flexibility.
