Revolution Two Launches Early
I am very happy to announce that the Revolution Two open source theme site has officially launched! Yes, I had mentioned earlier that it would launch midnight on 10/31, but I figured I owed you all an early release.
First things first…
The current Revolution theme site is going to stay open until 12:00 midnight CST 10/31 as promised, I just felt that since I had delayed so many announcements before, that an early launch would make up for it! As you can see, at the moment, we are launching with 10 themes - I’ll shortcut those demos below:
- Revolution Code Blue
- Revolution Code Gray
- Revolution Code Red
- Revolution Church
- Revolution Lifestyle
- Revolution Charred
- Revolution Chrome
- Revolution Black Canvas
- Revolution Office
- Revolution TV
Keep in touch…
You can follow on Twitter the Revolution Two open source theme project, as well as sign up for the eNews & Updates newsletter that will send you notifications of any theme releases, as well as some very helpful WordPress tips.
For repeat clients…
As I have in the past, for anyone who has purchased any current Revolution themes, we will be offering a 25% discount on the purchase of any of the Pro or Pro Plus membership packages. Please contact me for that discount code.
Becoming a member…
All of the themes on the new site will be made available under the open source/GPL license. However, we are going to offer a yearly and lifetime membership plan, that will include benefits to all themes. (meaning you won’t have to purchase a plan for each theme.)
Here are some of those benefits:
- Unlimited support answered by our experts
- Learn customization techniques with our detailed theme tutorials
- Professional design services available by our list of recommended designers
- Discounted general consulting rates
- Increase your search rankings with a link from the Revolution site directory
Why you should become a member…
Have you cobbled together your blog, but not satisfied with how it looks? Are you spending too much time “looking” for help? Do you have design or WordPress questions? Are you looking for guidance so that you can take your blog or websitge to the next level? Do you want to see how others are using their theme? Do you lack the time to do-it-yourself and want to hire an experienced designer/customizer?
We understand the frustrations that novice and even knowledgeable site owners have from our past experiences and through helping countless Revolution members. Thankfully, you have an alternative through our Pro and Pro Plus support plan packages that will empower you to get your blog or website up and running.
Current theme support…
The current theme support forum will also stay open until 12:00 midnight CST 10/31, but the new support forum is already open and awaiting current theme support. That means that if you are a current theme user, we encourage you to register for the new forum, and begin asking your current theme support questions over there.
A note for affiliates…
Another aspect of the current business model that has been questioned is the affiliate program. Since we are still planning on offering paid packages on the new site, the affiliate program will still remain. Your same E-Junkie login will apply, there will be new affiliate links in your account that you can use to update the ones you are currently using.
In addition, we are very happy to announce that we are changing the commission payouts from 25% to 30%!
In closing…
We are very proud to invite you to visit the Revolution Two project - new themes, open source, another Revolution. At the moment Jason and I already have another 4 theme concepts in the works, and plan on offering a multitude of quality WordPress themes. You will see different styles, layouts and many more things that will be incorporated into our themes as times goes on.
We look forward to seeing you on the new site!

let the fun and games begin!
I’m quite excited about this!
Rebecca, I guess we’ll see how it all pans out, eh?
Great work guys!! Thanks for the early release.
Thanks Darrin, we figured people might enjoy an early launch!
Brian - as always…great work!
For anyone looking at getting amazing Wordpress help, go with Brian Gardner. I’ve used him on a ton of political sites. He’s the best there is.
- Wesley
Wes, thanks so much… you know I’ve enjoyed working with you on all of those sites!
Congrats Brian!
I can’t wait to take a look at the new themes. You’re going to make many people happy with the early release
Nice stuff there, congrats and thanks for early release
!
Great work, the new themes look brilliant. Congratulations on the launch, and good luck for the new venture.
Stu, thanks… the themes are there for the looking!
Matej, appreciate it as well. (and you’re welcome for the early release!)
Outstanding, Brian! Really like the new site - and the themes are (as expected) great.
One question - Are you migrating the user list (referring to owners of the dev package) or should we re-register for the new forum?
Best wishes in this new chapter - and you know my support is with you.
Great job on the early launch, looking forward to working with these.
I’m very excited about this. I love the new themes. Even though I already paid for the full developers package, I’ll likely sign up for a lifetime membership on the new site just because I believe in what you are doing!
This is like an early Christmas gift. I’m glad I don’t have to wait until 11/1 to check all these out. At first glance, the Charred and Office themes really catch my eye (and imagination)! Wayne
Joe, thanks - no, I’m asking people to re-register. It made sense to keep the support forums separate.
Jack, thanks as well - we’re very happy that we were able to launch early, especially since I was gone all of last week on vacation!
Cliff, now that is very admirable, and I truly appreciate that!
Thanks Wayne, make sure you give Jason props for those themes were developed by him!
One question.. I just read about the new affiliate program on the new support memberships. When I go to E-junkie choose “get affiliate code” it only gives me options that take people to the original Revolution Themes site.
I want to blog about the new release, but would like to be sure to use an affiliate code that link to the new site.
Any thoughts?
Brian,
awesome!
I’m going to Rev2 to see the new themes
Stefano
woo-hoo!
Great job getting this all together early. The Revolution team really did a great job on the new site and with the new themes.
@ Cliff - Go to the old “Revolution Theme” option and select either the Pro or Pro Plus option. Use that affiliate code to go to the new Revolution site.
Has Christmas come early or something?
What a surprise to get online, and spot the fact that the new RevolutionTwo is alive and kicking! I’m going to have a field day playing with all the new themes, and checking out what they can do! - I like the design of the new site as well, very elegant!
Signed up on the forum too, but I don’t have access to everything just yet! I’m still looking around! HEHE
I might get round to blogging about the new lanuch in a bit over on my blog, or at least by the end of this week anyway! (Fingers crossed)
Thanks
Mark
@Kyle.. Thanks for the tip. New Affiliate code is now working!
Brian, will the list of freelance Revolution designers currently on the old forum be transferred to the new forum?
Congrats and Welcome Back!
New site looks great, Brian. I am it out now. Your server must be doing a little sweating today…
Fantastic Work! What a perfect Wednesday Surprise … gotta love the Wednesday get home from work surprises!
I just wanted to say that I am especially enjoying Revolution Office … it’s fantastic! I wish I had the time and the effort to make the BG theme change over right now. Definitely, my favorite out of your new R2 release! For now … I will be staying with Revolution News … but who knows … I might just break down … and make the switch!
Thank YOU for Revolution TWO
I just downloaded the new office theme. Looks very cool!
Thanks for your work, Jason and Brian!
Wow
already I see a lag in the server… I guess traffic must be crazy
anyway all the best Brian!
Great work brian. wish your good luck with this project and future upcoming as well.
When your “Make wordpress themes from scratch” ebook coming out?
Fantastic work again! If I had ten new blogs, they would have ten new themes. Right now I’m having trouble managing three, but at least one will get a makeover thanks to Revolution 2. Congratulations Brian and Jason.
Well done Brian on such a great transformation of your theme production to the new open sourced themes on the new site. Looks great.
Just a little problem is that the new site seemed really slow! Hope its nothing major and I suppose it could be me although my speedtest was OK.
Good luck with the new project in the future.
Awesome! Nice to see this go live. Good luck to you.
Brian,Nice new look and feel. If I understand you correctly that the support forum for Revelution one themes is not going to be available after 10-31? You have over 4000 posts just for the revelution them alone, that would be a shame to lose all that information, don’t you think? Can’t you just port that information over into the new forums? and what about the tutorials for revelution one themes?
@Michael - I could be mistaken, but I believe Brian said he was going to leave the forums in a read-only state so the knowledge base wouldn’t be lost.
Awesome!
Hey Brian:
Thank you so much for the great work.
Looking forward to a “lifetime” working relationship with you guys. You always have my support.
Cheers;
Great stuff, Brian. Will Pro members also receive child themes? I had that impression when you first mentioned the new project, but your list of membership benefits doesn’t mention that possibility.
I’ve signed up for the lifetime option, tried to follow Kyle’s suggestion for ejunkie affiliate program, but I’m still having no luck.
Like Cliff posted earlier, when I go to ejnkie site I only get links to old Revolution themes. Any other suggestions?
congratulations on the early release !
The new themes really rocks, wish you success on the new project.
bye!
Brian forgive me for being so late in my congrats here..hands full at home with my father in hospital but wanted to say the site looks truly wonderful and how excited I am for you….. you can see a lot of hard work but so, so worth it…..
Brian,
Great looking themes!
On the Revolution TV theme I noticed that the videos are widescreen?
What happens if you only have normal 4:3 ratio videos, will they automatically be resized?
Thanks
Mike
I’ve been tinkering with Rev Code Blue for some time ever since you released it.
I like the lightness of ‘Lifestyle’ though. I’m just glad you did not get into the ‘hypeness of prelaunch’ like some other IM folks do.
George
Awesome themes Brian and team!
I’m definitely looking forward to updating my sites to the new themes (after I give up on creating my own… heh)!
Fantastic! I’m really excited about this. Now I can check out both options before decided whether to go with the existing or new revolution themes.
I will come back later tonight to explore them all in detail. So far, so good!
Well done, Brian. You have some beautiful themes there.
The full-size images in Revolution Chrome appear behind the Flash video. Jason (if he is maintaining his own theme) can work around this by setting the wmode parameter for the Flash video.
By looking at the numbers of registered users on forums can we see how much people joined RevolutionTwo? Because that’s a lot of people in first day
I’m still looking for the right theme to come which I would not know a clue how to customize it and still need it. I’m perfectly happy with Magazine at the moment.
epic. thanks so much. great work and keep it coming.
Beautiful. Being this generous with your themes only makes your legend grow among those who know Wordpress and beyond. Thanks for all this!
Congratulations on the early go! We’re off and running.
I’m quite excited about the launch. Gosh, I’ve been waiting ages for this.
I gonna download one and use it for my new blog.Thanx Brian

Hi Brian! Thanks for your great themes! I love them! I just paid for the Revolution Pro Membership but I don’t know how to registered for the support forum. Thanks

Wow~
congratulations!
Great themes Brian,
I have given a detailed look about the each theme with demo
Thanks for your great work Brian.
Congrats on the launch Brian! Very nice templates.
I look forward to experiencing Revolution2.
Cheers,
Augusto
Hey Brian, isn’t the Revolution Pro free also? I was really anticipating this. Please reply if I’m wrong.
Wooooo can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait to use these!!! Thanks so much Brian!
Hello fellow bloggers
This is THE revolution, thats wath this is.
Finally, the best themes are FREE.
Congrats Brian (collegue blogger and menthor).
Keep on going with the wonderfull work and wish the best for you … and for all your projects.
Artur
Very nice work, thanks for that.
But I’m missing some explanations on a few functions of the new themes, that would be very helpful for those of us, who do not plan to purchase one of the suport packages.
As for example: how does the content gallery plugin function in Revolution Church, which custom field value is responsible for those article-thumbnails on the frontpage etc.
Would be great, if you could write a little how-to for the ones, that like to use the new Revolution themes under the open source licence.
Thank you very much.
And excuse my bad english
-Chris
Great work!
Good luck Brian!!
Love the themes ( I’m a Revolution junkie) but am also a blog ‘flipper’ - what’s the state of play re my building a blog with one of the themes, optimizing it and putting it on SitePoint?
I obviously want to be ‘kosher’
Cheers
Thanks so much for releasing the new themes early. You saved me so much. I have to make a new site for my church for like a month now and I’ve been disappointing my pastor every week. Finally I can walk into church and not feel bad.
-Ace
Good Luck Brian! I am sure it will be another success, but the earnings from the project might be little less than expected. I hope I am wrong though.
Brian,
As usual you continue to amaze me with your creativity and professional work. Awesome job!!!
Waiting for it!
Awesome work!
I have a dubt, is it possible (due to the new license) use the code to design a non-wordpress site? i mean, leaving the credits in the stylesheet for example. I’m new and want do the things right way…
email-me if you can and excuse me for my poor english ; )
I am really amazed with the Great Quality Themes provided on the site.
Great Work!! Good Luck Brain and Jason.
Nice job, glad to see you are implementing some JS Frameworks and gallery effects into your free themes. I’m still pleased with my magazine theme and am happy to see you didn’t blow away the theme I paid $99 for :).
I’m not missing the download links am I? I was at the site and only see the demo links but no downloadable open source links.
thay are looking great..
Very Good Very Thanks…
I love the TV theme, it really has me thinking of ways that this can work for a video site. It’s a great start, which is exactly what a template should be. It also kind of revolutionizes the way that video blogs work. It takes you out of the standard posting format and forces you to be creative. Great job on this one!
Hey Brian,
congratulations on the release, I have featured both packages on the site for your users to review and discuss. Also, if we needed to get the documentation for the previous Revolution set of themes, where can I get it? I have a couple of projects that are still not finished.
Thanks,
Dan
