Revolution Two, Threaded Comments and Image Captions

23

I am very happy to announce that the Revolution Code Blue, Code Gray and Code Red blog themes have been updated for WordPress 2.7 and are ready for download. I will soon be updating the other Revolution themes as well, but wanted to start with these.

A few things that have been updated:

  • Styled for threaded comments, but also backwards compatible
  • Restyled image captions to match the default theme
  • Recoded navigation to accommodate 4 level drop down menu
  • Separated comments from trackbacks

I will be writing a tutorial which will be placed into the support forum that will explain how to add these features without having to start over with the updated theme.

As of right now, the updated version does not support sticky posts, as I wanted to spend some time working with that function before I added it into any updates.

Here’s a screenshot of how the threaded comments will look:

I’ve been looking around and can’t find a way to get the Revolution Tech theme. How do you get this theme or any of the other older themes??

Brian, pleas send me an email. I did not find your email here. Thanks.

Brian, I have posted a problem/ bug with an earlier version, actually version (1) of the Real Estate theme. It has been reported in several threads. I don’t know if this is why Version 3 came out to correct this or not. However, I spent so much time modifying the 1st version that I have not had time to compare the difference and make the upgrade. Right now the theme works rather well but every time we add a new blog post we loose the FEATURED LISTING IMAGE. I am willing to pay for your service to help me correct the issue, so I have time to work on UG to the next version.

Can I get some help or point me to someone who can help resolve the issue ?

    Thanks

Hey Brian! It’s really nice to “meet” you, and especially lovely to know that you’re a Christian and proud of it. So am I!

I like your templates, especially Revolution Album. Do you think one day a modified version could come out that can have a big picture on the homepage only, and not on every page?

Awesome theme! I like the way you modified it for your blog, although, the old theme on your blog here was more unique for me, yet this one quite suits the Holidays :D
A question here, I’ve won a theme on BlogOhBlog in June and Jai got me the RevolutionProMedia Theme that I am currently using on my blog, does this mean that I am allowed to ask support from the support forum for the theme?
Not that I don’t know how to use it (I’ve been working and tweaking it online and offline for weeks now), it’s just that I can’t figure out a few things and I’m shy to join the forum because I just won this theme at a contest.

    Hi Brian,

I found your site some time last year and was very impressed with your Revolution theme. If I remember correctly, they used to be for sale am I right? I have a few questions in regards to your current themes that anybody can download for free (I just did, and was surprised at the ease of use).

What are the terms of use?

Can I tweak them into my own custom design?

    Cheers,

    -Nik

Brian, the teal-color Revolution 2 theme knocks my socks off! I’d love to use it, but I hesitate because it’s not updated to 2.7. If I were to use it now to create a brand new blog, what would be involved in changing over once you update this theme?

  14. Brad says:

Brian, attempting to use the LifeStyle theme .. but not sure exact what is going on .. does not look as demo. any chance you could assist me?

    thanks!
