Revolution News Theme Giveaway

UPDATE
I have announced the winners of the contest – many thanks to those who entered! I read and appreciate all of the posts that were made in response to this contest. The winners were selected by creativity, and a combination of potential use of the theme! For those who entered the contest and did not win, I will reward your time by offering the Revolution News theme at 50% discount. Contact me and request how to do this!

Revolution News ThemeI thought it would be fun to run a contest and give away a few copies of my Revolution News Theme. With so many contests out there lately, such as the awesome one that David Airey just ran, I guess I can say I’ve caught “contest fever.”

So the rules on this contest are simple – I want you to write a post on your blog as to why you want the theme, and what you plan on doing with it. I’ll be picking 3 lucky people, and will award them by sending them the Revolution News theme. This should be a fun contest, and I look forward to seeing the responses!

I’m a creative person by nature, so there aren’t any special requirements to this. Have fun, be truthful and please provide a link in the comments section to the post you have written. I will be listing the entries inside this post as they come in.

    Take care.

  3. David Airey says:

Thanks for the mention, Brian, and best of luck with your contest!

  4. Chris says:

You’ll be selecting the winner on October 10, when do all entries have to be in? I may participate and work better under deadlines and pressure. :D

  5. Chris, I’ll make the announcement shortly before 4:00 CST, so let’s say by 2:00 CST on Wednesday!

  6. Don Sturgill says:

The contest is another excellent idea, Brian. My entry is posted at http://www.roadturn.com. I have accepted a teaching job at a missions school in Appalachia and the kids there would be totally blessed by your Revolution News theme. They would shine.

  7. Brian: My entry is at the new Pro Blogging News site. I’ve added a blog section. The post is here. Whether I’m one of the lucky winners or not, I’ll be happy to pay for the wonderful Revolution News theme.

  8. Christopher says:

    Hi Brian

Your contest couldn’t have come at a better time! We would LOVE to use your theme on http://www.TheOswegoJournal.com, and winning a copy would just be icing on the cake!

  9. Hmmm.. I could really get into this as we are hunting around trying to find a platform for Earthlings Anonymous .. and this looks really RIGHT.

  10. Dirk Gadsden says:

    Brian,
I really can’t think of much to say except here’s what I’ve written. The post is pretty self-explanatory and I hope it gets the point across.

    Thanks,
    Dirk Gadsden

  11. Thanks to all who have submitted so far – I have placed a list of links at the bottom of my post – Christopher, I need to have a post from you, or unfortunately you won’t qualify.

  12. Chris says:

Thanks for clarifying, Brian. I’ll get to work on my entry as soon as I start feeling that imaginary pressure.

    Great idea, by the way.

  13. Well it seems the trackback from my blog has already reached this page, but I though I better enter officially.

    Here is my entry: http://digitalcarnival.com/?p=6

You should be able to find everything there so I will try and refrain from making this a huge comment and cluttering up this page.

  14. Alpesh Nakar says:

    Brian,

Good one mate! I have just blogged about this and look forward to a positive outcome :-)

  15. I’m pretty sure that all entries have been listed – if I missed one, please let me know!

  16. Here’s the link.

Max is my 1st grandchild, born to my daughter Renae and son-in-law Cale. He’s about 7 weeks old. Rather than email photos all over the country to friends and family, I built a website within 24 hours of his birth. News is much more than current events. In our case, it’s news about one child. One child, relying on Brian to do the right thing!

  17. Alex says:

    I’m in too :)
    My post is here.
    Thanks :)

  18. Here’s my entry. What a cool contest idea!

  19. Steve says:

The Bweinh! entry is here! Thanks for the opportunity!

I don’t think I “want” to win this contest, I think I NEED to win this contest. I simply didn’t have time to do justice to my blog entry about it. I’ve thought of sseveral other points about it I might have raised. Our group is small and resources limited and we are looking for the best LOW COST ways to go so we can do other things than tie up our resources in software and expensive servers.

Best luck to all, this was an amazing find anyway!

And Brian, I do love your blog.

    Virginia

  21. Patrick says:

I’d really like to win this theme. I’ve been wanting to revamp my restaurant review site and I think this theme would work well. Plus, it would be used on a site that is not what it was initially designed for (reviews). I wish myself luck!!

  22. ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!

I have selected the winners, and they are bold-faced with a * before the title! Congrats to those who won, and thanks so much to all of you who entered!

  23. Don Sturgill says:

Congratulations to the winners…all excellent choices and worthy sites. Wishing you all the very best. don

  24. Chantel says:

Congratulations winners. I can see why Brian had a difficult time selecting only three.

    On a new note…

    Brian,

Would you share why my entry was not considered at all. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Chantel

  25. Congrats to all those who won, and it would be nice just to summarize why those who won did win and those who didn’t. A paragraph in total would be good.

  26. Chantel, you’re link is listed – Stuart, I was planning on doing that – only so many hours in a day! ;)

  27. Jaypee says:

Oh man, I can’t believe I missed this contest! I was very busy the past few days that I wasn’t able to drop by. Anyways, congratulations to the winners and looking forward to future contests. :)

  28. ^^ I fully understand time constraints ;)

Well congratulations to all those who won, and to Brian for pulling of a flawless competition

  29. tvsm22 says:

What’s all this about Revolution Theme – it’s not genious. Yes it’s pretty and so far the best blog theme i’ve seen but it’s only for news blogs

  30. Chantel says:

    Brian,

Are there any hosts that you would recommend for use with the Revolution News theme? I have been considering some that WordPress recommends here:

    http://wordpress.org/hosting/

    Sincerely,

    Chantel

  31. Jack says:

How did i miss this contest??? Next time– Great job on the News Theme.

    jack

  32. San says:

I agree with Jack – the News Theme is fantastic. Unfortunately, I also missed the contest. Is there a link with the winners? I’d love to see the different ways they’re utilizing the theme.
