It’s amazing how easy it is to be superficial.
Last night I was lying in bed watching The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, I found myself being insanely shallow. Demi Moore was on last night, and for the first time ever, I noticed that she was aging a bit. Now I know most women hate to hear that, but those who are 44 and look the way she does really can’t complain.
Aside from seeing the slightest resemblance of aging, my ignorant thinking drove further down the road of embarassment. I started to question what Asthon Kutcher was thinking when he decided to get into a relationship with her. Yes, Demi is beautiful, but at the time they got involved, she was going through a big time divorce with Bruce Willis. Talk about emotional baggage.
Ashton, notorious for his goofy antics and relationships with younger women like Brittany Murphy has apparently grown up. And after shedding my horrendous stereotypes, I realized something quite obvious.
Ashton loves Demi.
Wow, what a revelation. Now considering I dated someone 31 years old when I was in college, I have no room to question what Asthon does and doesn’t do regarding his love life. And back then, I muttered to people who asked about my relationship, “Love knows no boundaries.”
And here I write, in full comprehension that I was a total idiot last night. I know better. I know that love can exist outside the lines of normalcy. In fact, I envy Ashton. He’s in the Hollywood limelight, comes in contact with thousands of young girls all over California. Yet he remains true to Demi. And as much as I think she enjoys his youth, he enjoys her just the same.
