Sounds like an interesting contest! I’m up for the challenge.

Wow that just totally outplays my $5000 competition. Eeek, good luck everyone!

PremiumWP - good deal, looking forward to having you in the contest!

Jacob - how can that outplay yours? Your prizes still total more than mine, and besides, it’s thankfully not a contest competition between us! ;)

Outstanding promotion!! It’s a great way to promote your affiliate program AND it serves as link bait as well.

Good luck with the contest! I wish I could say it’s inspired me to become an affiliate… but I had already done so. (BTW: I was pushing your themes to my clients without the affiliate program though! They’re just that good!)

Hi Kathy - thanks for the comment, and for the post on your site - it’s a shame we never got the chance to work together on your client projects, but I suppose we’re both too busy, right? A good problem to have. (And I appreciate your comment about the theme’s being too good!) ;)

    Brian,

I’m still awaiting the go ahead with that client on the commencement of her custom blog theme… obviously it’s been more than a year! And THAT is why I put a 90 day time limit on all my proposals!

Which is why I think selling a theme and allowing other designers to customize it is positively BRILLIANT on your part!!!

Then again, I should expect as much from a Colts fan!

    Great contest. Awesome prizes.

Not to throw a wet blanket on things, but the NCAA and the Illinois High School Association own the trademark to the term “March Madness.”

You might wanna huddle with a lawyer to make sure you’re not violating it. I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t say for sure. But I do seem to recall the trademark holders have successfully sued car dealers that used the term.

    * Author highlighting and gravatars in the comments section
    * Tabbed separation of comments and trackbacks

Haha, of course not but a holiday wouldn’t go astray! I will post a link about it this week! It is a good way to run a competition, you don’t usually see these types.

Thanks everyone for your comments - I did change the name of the contest, to avoid and legal issues. ;)

Ellie, in regards to your question, I am slowly working towards various things with my themes. Some of Darren’s features are contingent upon his themes, and wouldn’t apply to mine. I am beginning to implement theme options, as seen in the Pro Media theme.

Another thing I am doing is coding phpBB3 forum templates (available for free) for all of my Revolution themes.

OH wow Brian, what a great contest. I am going to have to get my oars in order and sign up for this one. So exciting indeed. Good luck with your contest!!! (The dates in October for the Cruise, one of those days is my birthday that would be something else)

What a difference a year makes. Brian, I’ve been admiring your work for awhile now and just purchased your Revolution Pro Media theme.

This is off topic - but out of curiosity, I visited archive.org to see what your site looked like a year ago. Here it is:

What a difference a year can make when someone follows their passion with commitment! Congratulations on your success!

    Best Regards, Sean

Revolution and Mimbo are two different approach and concept to a magazine style content with WP. Revolution, Mimbo, WPRemix has started to expose the capabilities of WP as a content platform.

Brian, now that you’re thinkering with PHPBB, would you also consider bbPress?

This is exciting. I am already running a Revolution banner on one of my sites. I just need to write about the contest to be eligible to join. :)
