How to Receive Free StudioPress Theme(s) + Support!

Believe it or not, it’s been months since my latest site redesign. In 14 days I will be participating in an event that helps change lives, and I was inspired to turn my site pink. I have raised over $34,000 and am on a mission to raise more.

If you have been sitting on the fence with purchasing a theme…

Here’s your opportunity to spend less money, and have it support my efforts to raise money to fight breast cancer. I am offering a free StudioPress theme + support package for anyone who is willing to donate $50, and a free Pro Plus All-Theme package (all themes + support) for anyone who donates $150.

It’s all about karma, and making the world a better place…

On August 7th of 2009, I will once again lace up my shoes for the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day, and start an emotional journey that will take me 60 very long and grueling miles from the suburbs to downtown Chicago. This walk will be hot, this walk will be painful. There will be sweat, and there will be tears.

Most importantly, this event will benefit women and help to save lives…

I am required to raise a minimum of $2,300 to participate in the event. By the time that you finish reading this, two more women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and another one just died from it. In fact, while I am walking those 60 miles, 110 women will die from this horrible disease. 110 families will lose a mother, or a daughter, or a best friend.

That is why I walk…

I don’t walk to get recognition. I don’t walk because I want people to think of me as a hero. I walk so that a little girl can grow up and spend time with her mother. I walk so that a mother can watch her daughter walk down the aisle at her wedding. I walk so that I don’t have to console another friend while a part of her life was taken too soon. I walk because I am physically able to, while others are not. I walk because I’ve been given so much, and I want to give back as much as I can.

I walk, because I cannot walk away…

How about a widget ready gladiola theme for a donation? I love my gladiola theme, hate that I can’t do widgets. Any solution?

  2. Flo says:

    Hi Brian,

a very honorable action of you. I would love to buy a new theme and coevelly support the fight against cancer (two members of my family got cancer, one won the fight, the other is still struggling). Would it be possible to pay for the new magazine theme now and recieve it when it’s going to be released?

    Greetings
    Flo

  3. Kimmoy says:

    Hi Brian!

This idea is awesome and definitely for a great cause; will say a prayer for you and your family.

Let me tell you, it couldn’t have come at a better timing for me because I’m in the market for a new theme. My donation was submitted and I would love to get a copy of the Streamline theme.

    Thanks a bunch! :)

  4. Keldie Jamieson says:

    Hi Brian,

Funny, I have been procrastinating on buying the full package, but finally made the decision to do it before the end of the month. Then I got your tweet today. What a great idea. I would like to buy the developers package if possible.

I have donated $150 towards the cause. It is very kind of you to donate the money from your business to the cause. I have lost family to this disease and my Aunt is currently fighting it now. Thank you for your efforts in helping to find a cure.

    Best Regards,
    Keldie

    • Hey Keldie – thank you so much for the donation, and glad you got my Tweet! I just emailed you the download link for all of the themes, if you can do me a favor as well and confirm that you received it!

  5. Flo says:

Oh no … I don’t own a credit card, is it somehow possible to donate the money via paypal?

    Greetings

  6. Jacki says:

Brian, I’m so totally blog illiterate it’s scary (a friend did my blog for me with your theme) but if I can figure out how to zip up my theme and then how to get it back into my blog, it’s a deal.

  7. Adarsh says:

Such an ideal thing! You have definitely inspired me. I was just browsing for some theme to properly guide my site and convert it into a better being. And then I fell upon your site and just am honestly flattered. I was never up for ‘buying a theme’ because I’m capable of doing one myself, but ..well you know what. But, now after I see that, even if I buy, the money is going out for a charity event, I’ld like to buy the whole package. If you ever visit or visited explainstuff.com you’ld know that I’m into charity too. So, I don’t care, if you give the money or I do, if it reaches someone in need. I’ld be happier if you give it and I get like a bunch of templates to play around :)

But just let me know of the details as to, if it ‘really’ is an unlimited number of themes and where I can get them from. Will I be getting an Id and password from a subscription enabled site etc…
    Please email me at therealintellectual@yahoo.com

  8. Mark says:

Would there be any chance of getting a copy of the revolution theme also with a donation ($50 or $150)?

  9. Julian says:

    Hi Brian.

Awesome Idea. I’ve donated $150 for the walk and the All-Themes package…

Was on the fence about buying a single or all, I think you have inspired a few people to get off the fence and to do somethign similar in the future for a good cause.
    I’d say you Rock Brian.

Have fun, and I can’t wait to get creating with your beautiful themes…

    • Julian – thanks so much for the donation, if you can do me a favor and register on the support forum and send me your username, I an upgrade your account and give you access to all of the themes!

  10. Max Jude says:

    Hi Brian,

This is such a great cause and breast cancer is something which I personally would love to see eradicated from this earth. I am unable to give you any financial support currently but I am Graphic Designer and if you need any help where I am able to donate my time for free, please email me.

  11. Mark says:

    Hi Brian,

Great idea! I would not normally have purchased a theme, but with such a great cause it’s irresistible!

I’ve donated $50 but can’t decide between the Magazine Theme or Lifestyle.. it’s 1.30 am here, so I’ll sleep on it

Many, many thanks for your inspiring commitment to such a great cause.

Hey Brian, I am on the road but saw your tweet. Love the corporate theme we use for our site, and have to say that all theme deal is fantastic, and what a wonderful cause. I’m not back in town for a few, so wondering how long you will be offering this?

  15. Xual says:

Great theme, Brian – and worthy cause! I support it this side of the pond. All power to your elbow (and any other necessary body parts!) in your fundraising and walking.

  20. Jenna says:

    Brian,
This is my second year that i support you in this walk. I have all your themes and you really inspired me. I run marathons for no good reason but to prove myself that I can. After reading your blog, I decided that i will join a cancer foundation and will be running for a good reason and try to raise money. I lost my mother to a cancer when I was yang and now, i feel I am strong enough to start facing this issue, and what is a better way to face it but by helping others.
    Thank you so much.

    • Jenna – thanks as well, it’s very kind of you to continue to support our efforts. I’m deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, and you can honestly say that you’re making a difference against this terrible disease.

  21. Jerri says:

What a great cause! Best of luck to you during the walk. I just donated $150 and am REALLY looking forward to using your themes.

    • Hey Jerri – thanks so much, I really appreciate it – do me a favor and register on the StudioPress support forum and then send me your username so I can upgrade your account and give you access to the themes!

  22. Shivani says:

Dear Brian ~ thanks for being such an inspiration! I read your story and your blog, and was deeply touched by your sincerity. I am a breast cancer researcher PhD student in CA, and your donations make our research possible. I have two family members who are survivors, and one who did not survive from cancer. You are right – every day women are diagnosed and dying from breast cancer.

As a grad student on a low budget, I was looking around for a cool wordpress theme that was affordable. When I saw your blog, I was sold! :) It is great to see social entrepeneurship in action. I donated $50 to the cause, and would like to get the Lifestyle theme. Thank you so much, and will definitely promote Studiopress! Good luck with the walk… and thanks again for contributing to breast cancer awareness and research.

Peace & Blessings to you and your family!

  23. Tracey says:

    Brian–

You are incredibly talented and your cause is one I can really get behind. This is a great deal and I’m more than willing to show my support. I’ve been looking for a new theme for my music blog for some time and have come across your site often. This is just the jolt I needed to decide I’d like to purchase.

I’m interested in the Magazine theme but I would need a few customizations. Was hoping you wouldn’t mind helping with that. I’m willing to donate a bit more than $50 for the one theme if I can get a few touches added. Please know if this is something that can happen. Send me an email and I can let you know exactly what I’m interested in having done.

    Hoping to hear from you!!

  24. James says:

I was contemplating the all-theme package already, but knowing that the money was going to a cause as worthwhile as this solidified my decision.

Oh yeah, drink plenty of water!

  25. Lucy says:

    Hi Brian
It seems like everyone is tweeting about this fantastic offer. I’d like to get the All them package from you now. Would you just confirm that you will send me the All theme package once I have made my donation of $150?
Thanks brian I really want to get started customising my theme straight away (in UK) so would appreciate your response

  26. Jerri says:

  27. Lucy says:

The doantion process skipped the confirmation for me and went straight to the “Thanks for the donation” page, can you verify it went through ok?

    Thanks Brian!

  31. Crystal says:

  32. Jerri says:

I am SO pleased with my theme! I purchased the all-theme package and so far I have applied the Lifestyle to one of my sites. It is fantastic and so professional. Anyone sitting on the fence, step up and make your donation. It is for such a worthy cause and the benefits you will receive with your themes not to mention helping Brian in his walk is priceless.

  33. Britne says:

    Thank you !

  34. David Honig says:

    Brian,

I made the $150 donation. May I please get the LIfestyle Theme? User name is dhonig.

  35. David Honig says:

Please allow me to clarify- I would like to get the free Pro Plus All-Theme package, but wish to start by modifying my site from the Agent Theme to the Lifestyle Theme. I apologize for any confusion.

  38. Britne says:

Thank you Brian. I found the forum. Yes I probably did have the limit post plug in activated.

    Thanks for your help

  39. Bob Dunn says:

Just donated $150. This is so awesome what you are doing. You and your company truly is filled with compassion. And sharing it with this community by offering what you have, it so cool! Will be anxious to hear how the 3-day walk goes for you.

  40. Chris Mampe says:

Just donated $150. Good luck reaching the $30k for the 3-days.

  41. Bud Ward says:

    Brian,

Great thing that you are doing! I was on the fence about paying for Wordpress themes versus creating my own. When I saw the chance to donate to breast cancer and get your awesome themes, I couldn’t pass it up. I donated $150 to access to all of the themes. Please send me info on how to download the themes.

My mother is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer. She has done well for 4 1/2 yrs even with bone mets. However, she has recently seen an increase in her tumor markers. We’re praying for the best!

    Thanks again for your efforts,
    Bud

  42. Kate Kelly says:

    Hi Brian,

This is just an amazing thing you are doing. I just donated $150 and would love to receive the Pro-Plus All theme package.

Brest Cancer is my pet cause as well. It runs in my husband’s family, his mother, older Sister and Aunt all died from BC or BC related illness. I have five daughters and I only pray that we find a cure soon. I will be walking in the DC 3 Day in October. This will be my first walk and I just can’t wait until I cross that finish line with all the thousands of other people walking for the same goal.

Good luck this weekend. Sending you nice weather and happy feet vibes.

    God Bless,
    Kate Kelly

  43. Grant says:

    Hey Brian,

I made a donation of $100 after seeing your Tweet a few minutes ago. It is amazing how much you have raised so far! Good job and good luck!

    Cheers,
    Grant

PS – Did I see a tweet from you the other day referring that you went to SIUC?

    • Thanks so much Grant – the next step is to register on the support forum and then send me your username! And yes, I was a Beta down at SIU – Carbondale.

  44. Martina Royal says:

Brian, I’m so glad you posted this again as I meant to do this a few months back, but forgot. My donation is enroute. I already have the Pro account, but wanted to contribute to your efforts. Have a wonderful time!

$150 donated for the Pro Plus All-Theme package. Forum username is BletherMedia

    Great idea & many thanks

    Kyle

  48. Hey Brian,

You are a real champion! You have inspired me to join a local 3 Day event and I will use my theme to raise money for breast cancer research. My mom is a 11 year cancer survivor and I donate portions of my book sales but will step up the fund raising with this theme.

Going to donate now! Make It A Great Day!

    Chris Gloss

  49. Shalina says:

Fantastic! I’ve been sitting on that proverbial fence, I’ll be jumping off now and grabbing the FREE Themes. And it is FREE because I’m giving to a great charitable cause and receiving something back – not that it is a reason to donate as its a great cause anyway. Having run the Race for Life here in the UK for Cancer Research I know how much it means to those that get the support.

    Well done again.

  50. Richard Jacobson (Jake) says:

    Brian,

Thanks so much for what you’re doing. I’ve donated $50.00 and would like to get the Church Theme. My username at the forum is jake2766.

  51. jacob says:

    Hi Brian,

Amazing how much you’ve raised. Great work!

What’s the process for retrieving theme & support?

    Thanks :)

  52. Toni Hamel says:

I’ve just donated $150.00 to help reach your goal! You are very generous to offer your awesome themes for donations to this wonderful cause. Thank you Brian!

  53. Wendy Daunheimer says:

Brian, I just discovered your site through today’s post on Men with Pens, which led me to an older post that included the link to your site and offer for a free theme. I love your Lifestyle theme and think it would be ideal for me, but it seems like I’m a little late to the party. :( When I follow your link above, I get to the site but it only offers that I can make a donation under your name for 2010. Is the offer for a free theme still valid for next year? Please let me know.

  54. Samrat P says:

That’s really a great work Brain…. You should have added a widget to show how much you had raised until now….

  55. Hi Brian,

I really respect all you are doing. I was just browsing and came across your blog.

I really the like the fact the fact that you are raising money for breast cancer. My

GREAT stuff Brian! And acts like this amaze me. I commend you for your efforts. Are you still running the same “offer” for your 2010 walk? I see you have already collected some contributions. Please let me know. I am a BIG fan of your products!
