    WOW! I love that design!

Thanks for the quick feedback! I hope that this concept appeals to people, as it’s my way of making special and unique versions of my themes to those with a small budget but need an enhanced style of my themes!

  3. Cray Says:

    Hmmmm, an interesting move.
Let’s compare this to the themes that are being sold for example at Sitepoint. Many of them look as good as this one, are exclusive not to 10, but to 1 copy, and are being sold at half the price.
Sure, people will buy this, as you’ve got some reputation by now, ‘fans’ will probably buy everything you do. I’m just saying why I wouldn’t, even if I had the need for such theme :)

I appreciate your feedback - and to some degree, I see your point. I guess we all have our own business models, and there’s probably a market for both. Some people are willing to pay more for a theme that they know is solid, has been tested, and most importantly offers a support forum that is available 24/7 with responses usually immediate. That’s one big difference between buying a Sitepoint theme and one of mine.

  5. Cray Says:

I get that, and I know people will get much more than just a theme. It’s probably the number 10 instead of 1 that’s somehow bothering me. But then, you get much more $$$ from each of the regular Rev themes anyway, I guess ;)

    great!! very nice

  7. Michael Erb Says:

    That’s an attractive theme.

I do think the price is too high however. Of course what that really means is -I- would not pay that much for a single theme regardless of whether it’s limited to 1 or 10 or 100.

The way I view the theme is that it’s Revolution Theme with chrome hubcaps… 4 gif’s at $100 each.

I know - my biggest decision in this was to either go with 1 copy at a higher price, or 10 at a lower price. In my opinion, 10 copies across the entire planet still means it’s exclusive…

    Michael
I see your point, but it is a matter of having a “limited” edition in regards to the design. This was an experiment on my behalf, and if for some reason it falls on it’s face, then I learn something. I was just hoping to try something new, and accommodate some people that wanted something outside the box of the normal Revolution themes, but not have it all over the internet.

I understand what your attempting to do. And all marketing is a balance of various factors… do you go for large market share at low price, low market share at high price or fall somewhere in the middle. I’m sure you’ll sell these at your price. The exclusivity thing is not such a big deal for me. Gosh, in all the years of surfing, I can’t ever remember seeing the same site twice. The chances are pretty slim if you ask me.

I think it’s cool! You’ve become a success in a business where a whole lot of people are enviously watching your tail lights (myself included). More power to you - many organizations (well okay, 10) will be lucky to get such a great and almost unique web site. I look forward to learning from future exclusive themes.

  11. Mark Says:

Love the theme design, it looks really cool. However I have to agree in part with Cray and Michael here.

I think that it is rather expensive for a WordPress theme, even if there are only 10 being sold. However you are calling them exclusive, but they are not as there are more than 1 being sold?

Your themes are always rock solid though Brian and I am sure that people will purchase them as, like you say above they get more than just a WordPress theme when they purchase a Revolution theme.

Will be intersting to see how these sell. Good luck with it though Brian.

  12. While the design is based on the Revolution theme, if you’re going to pay someone to design a theme for you, you’re going to pay at least what Brian is charging here. At least that much. And you’re not guaranteed the quality of the code under the hood. At least with Brian’s themes, you’re assured of quality code. So the price doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t have a need for this version of the theme right now, but if I did, it wouldn’t bother me at all to pay for it.

  13. David Says:

    I agree with Mark’s comment …

However you are calling them exclusive, but they are not as there are more than 1 being sold?

Exclusive implies 1 or “the only” and I’m not too happy if I buy an exclusive and find out there are 9 other people with it.

I think this might a more “Limited Edition” Theme.

    Otherwise, I love the concept.

  14. Joy Says:

This first exclusive theme is quite beautiful. I am not going to haggle about whether the theme is called “exclusive” or “limited edition” nor would the price stop me if I really want the theme. Bottomline, you all know that if Brian’s name is on the theme (1) its top of the line as far as coding and functionability (2) you know you’ll always receive quick responses to any questions (3) you know that you’ll have a design that is eye appealing and professional. With all of that, what else really matters??? Brian, your time, talent and effort is worth the price you say they are worth. Thanks for doing what you do, Brian!

  15. Colin Says:

Just got your tech theme rolling… thanks Brian.

  16. Craiger Says:

There really isn’t a comparison of Revolution Themes to the cheap themes sold on Sitepoint. I have had the dis-pleasure of fixing some of those themes for clients and the pleasure of replacing some with Revolution themes.

Just because a theme looks good on the outside, many (not all) of the free and inexpensive themes are poorly coded! I’ve seen some inexperienced coders who are selling some themes with some terrible things in them. You know it’s going to be bad when you see a comment line in their theme that says, “Hack to …”.

Which is one of the main reasons I use Brian’s themes for my clients and own sites exclusively now. I got tired of trying to figure out what some “wannabe” was attempting to do with their code.

  17. Craiger Says:

BTW, exclusive has many meanings, but it doesn’t necessarily mean just one.

i.e. From a dictionary: excluding much or all; especially all but a particular group or minority; “exclusive clubs”; “an exclusive restaurants and shops”
