I am very happy to announce that the Agent WordPress Theme has been officially released today. This theme is ideal for real estate agents or brokers with multiple agents. Go on, take it for a test drive!

Those are some sweet properties! And a nice theme. Way to go!

  2. Dan says:

Nice theme, but looks a lot like many of your others.

  3. Joe says:

    Your timing is great, Brian!

I’ve got a couple of sites to build for some local realtors – this theme format is just right!

Sooooo – just how do we get hold of this puppy?

  4. Nice! This might work great for a site that my sister-in-law asked me to help create for a friend of hers. They breed miniature ponies and I am guessing that this design might work great for them.

    Keep up the outstanding work.

  5. It’s a nice theme but it fails to observe a few realities.

    1) Most individual agents don’t have their own listings, or they have only 1 or 2 listings. Very few Realtors actually carry 5 or more listings at any given time. Many agents don’t even want listings and only work with buyers. So an agent theme designed to showcase a lot of listings in a lot of different categories won’t work for most agents, especially the new ones who really need a good website to get started but don’t want the akwardness of a listings area with no listings..

Solution: Make the theme flexible enough to accomodate agents just starting who have no listings, or agents who don’t sell listings.

1a) Would be nice if the photo tour allowed browsing through the photos instead of click, open, close, open, close, etc.

    2) Every Realtor website needs a good IDX interface. Since most agents don’t have their own listings, they need the IDX listings commonly available now. Website visitors want to search the entire MLS anyway, not just the few listings an agent might have on their site.

Solution: Write some plugins to allow the site to easily display an IDX (Realtor Public MLS listings) search from some of the big IDX providers such as Wolfnet.com (the one I use).

This is a great start though. It’s just that there are so many different configurations needed for agent sites (solo agent, teams, Brokerage, listing agents, buyer’s agents, etc.) that a one size fits all template is just a start.

    My 2 cents.
    Steve

Nice and elegant. Good work brian.

  7. Anthony says:

Nice work. I can use this for a couple of projects I am working on.

  8. reb says:

I love how you give us Christmas in January, Brian :)

  9. jack says:

Great design and look forward to using it for a travel agency this month.

With several agents can there be several about me(s) that can be on specific pages?

  10. Kham Tran says:

You never cease to impress. Another brilliant theme!

  11. Ovais says:

Very nice new theme. And even better, a creative designer can employ it for multiple purposes. The products keep getting better. My only request is to see more corporate layouts but I know you cant rush genius/original designs.

  12. Renato says:

Nice work! But… how can we download it under GPL license?

  13. JP says:

Brian, this is wicked. Your themes rock!

  14. Nice theme Brian!

    As always excellent quality.

One thing I have found out the hard way is that most “bosses” don’t like/know what RSS is. They will assume the same is true for their customers (which as big as the uptake of rss has been, generally probably dont know what it is).

Hence having a large RSS icon is probably not a great idea for a website that will be seen by the general public as opposed to techies.

    Thanks

This is a gorgeous theme and just what I need for an upcoming project! What is the name of that script that is used for the slideshow on the home page? I’ve seen it before but can’t remember what it is….

  16. sabatino says:

    A nice theme!
How Can I have the release?

  17. Scott says:

Are you no longer offering unsupported themes free for download?

  18. bill says:

    Hi,

Love the theme, however it needs a galley page to show rows of houses and a bit of text under sometimes and need to enlarge using light box or something similar.
How can i do this can you create a template page to add to this theme?

  19. Toad Press says:

Great theme. I’ll be suggesting this to clients in real estate…if there are any left!

  20. Marek says:

    Hi,
can provide a description of how your theme works? how to be working with images, thumbnails, gallery? How to distinguish between blog posts from the properties?

  21. it’s a really nice theme…

  22. Kathleen says:

I donated $50 for your walk – and signed up for the Dallas walk myself :-) You’ve stumbled upon a great way to raise money for such a worthy cause, while offering us the wonderful bonus of a pro theme. I’d like the Agent theme, please. Does it come with several color options like some of your other themes or just the black? Thanks!

  23. Thanks Dave – appreciate it! Yeah, be nice to live in one of those homes, eh?

  24. Dan, thanks – I know that a lot of my work looks similar, and that’s because I like to re-use certain elements that people like. As for the design, I tried to change some things around, and offer some things that previous themes didn’t.

  25. Dan says:

Not trying to be critical, just honest. Your designs are always appealing to look at. It’s just that the layout is always pretty much the same – main column, sidebar on the left split part of the way down into two columns with categories, blog roll, etc. I know it’s tough to design something new from scratch with an entirely different look and feel. That takes a lot more time.

Great work, though! Just the fact that you keep kicking out great new designs on a regular basis says something about your work ethic. I often get great ideas and fail on the follow-through.

  26. Totally agree with you and my design tunnel vision, so that is why I created Streamline, to help break the mold. (although layout it’s similar) But I am hearing you, and am trying to come up with some unique layouts and designs moving forward.

  27. jack says:

    Steve,
Great review from a Real Estate point of view.

    Please remember:
    1. If there is no listing for a category, Wordpress will not list that category.
    2. When a house is sold, I would think the agent would like some coo-does for that on the site?
    3. There is a plugin for going to the next or last page or post that would work great with the photos.

Steve thanks again for your input. I would like to start selling to the
real estate market and I understand they can get a free template
but really did not what I saw.

    jack

  28. jack says:

    — like what I saw.

  29. Mark Bailey says:

For the photos, I use NextGen Gallery and Shadowbox JS. They work together to provide an elegant presentation. You can use NextGen alone, but I much prefer the Shadowbox presentation.

  30. jack says:

Hi Brian, I like your layout, even if they look the same, I assume the design is up to the designer and the more leeway you provide the more different looks you will have. And will be the first to admit I’m lazier than most. I think what is important is how the site links back from the database and how the extra data is added, like the Featured Content Gallery or how the front page is dynamic.

    Thanks Again

    jack

  31. Mark Bailey says:

Although the layout is similar to other themes, it’s because that layout works. The Featured Content Gallery draws people in, and the things under it give concise summaries of key content areas. It’s a sensible, clean layout.
