If You are Going to Sell Out…
Then make your website look like this. A few months ago, Whoorl’s website fell victim to the bandwidth monster and fried. Freaked me out a bit because I thought she was closing her blog, which I enjoy reading. Nice work Sarah. (Although watch out for the Salukis)
Anyway, she mentioned that she was going to include some ads on her site, to help offset the cost of hosting. That’s the type of problem you have when you are are a famous blogger, have the poster OC life on the beach and just plain know how to blog.
I can show you a hundred blogs that say “Hello, you can’t find content, because there are WAY TOO MANY ADS on my page,” most of which are complete and total turnoffs. Eyesore sites, if you will.
But as she does with her writing, Whoorl subtly gets her point across without you knowing she pulled your shirt over your heard. She has ads all over her site, and you can barely tell they are there. Nice design, and the content totally distracts you from the ads, but I’m sure they generate enough of what she needs to pay for her hosting.
Although my post title is named what it is, I’m not ripping her one bit. It’s just in fun. In fact, I’m commending her design.

Love the post, especially the title. I wasn’t sure where you were going with it, but you drove home the point! I actually check out her blog from time to time, so it’s funny you post this about her. My favorite are the pictures she shows of her husband’s shirts. LOL!
Yeah, she does have a great blog, and covers all aspects of life. Her only downfall is that she’s a KU fan. (awaits retaliation from Sarah herself.)
You’ve changed your sites design yet again… this one looks more like “bloggy” (is that even a word? haha).
Yes, I moved things around a bit, maintaining the colors and logo. I wanted to have something more “bloggy” because of the intent I have on offering blogging resources and tips.
You are SO going to eat your words.
About KU, of course. Not all of the lovely things you said about Whoorl…
I think people would notice less if they didn’t make you put those banners all over the place. But eh.
Ads are cool
Ads are fun
Hiding them is good
