Happy Birthday Revolution

26

Happy Birthday RevolutionIt’s hard for me to believe this, but today I am celebrating Revolution’s first birthday. Yes, one year ago to this date, I released the very first Revolution WordPress theme.

Call me a proud papa, but I thought it would be fun to make this announcement and wish the theme a happy birthday!

To help kickoff the bash, I have officially released the Revolution Music theme, and am also running a very special offer.

I am happy to announce that in celebration of the Revolution Theme’s one year birthday, I am offering a buy one get one free special. After you purchase the Revolution Music theme, you can contact me and I will send you another theme of your choice.

This special only applies to the purchase of the music theme, and includes both the single-use or multiple-use licenses. The offer will last until Sunday August 17th at 12:00 midnight CST.

I also want to send a huge thanks to everyone who has participated in the Revolution - whether you are using a theme, helping with support, or simply have sent encouraging emails - all of it has truly been appreciated by me, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next year with Revolution!

    Happy Birthday & Congrats

Congratulations Brian, you’ve lived up to my early belief that Revolution would not be yet another fly-by-night attempt to cash in - over the past year, you’ve set the bar for all other premium theme makers. Here’s hoping that the next 365 days will see you establishing Revolution even further as the must-have license for all WP developers.

  3. Mark says:

Congratulations Brian and well done. Happy Birthday Revolution.

I think what you have done over the past year has been terrific and opened up new doors as to how to use Wordpress and get more out of it. You and your themes have really inspired me to learn more and use Wordpress and the Revolution Themes.

You are always leading the way in the premium themes market and anyone who knows anything about Wordpress knows the name Brian Gardner.

Please keep up the good work and keeping banging out these top quality themes month by month. They are worth their use in gold to a lot of people as I am sure that you know.

Well done Brain and I am already looking forward to the next wonderful themes, designs, ideas and projects that you will release in the next year.

Thanks for your comments - I’ve tried my best to establish a theme that was top notch, that continued to be updated with the latest technology and one surrounded by support and a great community!

    Mark
Another thanks to you and your kind words - it’s taken quite a bit of time and work, and the wheels in my hear are always spinning about how to better the themes and make new ones. It’s been one heck of a road!

  5. Graeme says:

The revolution theme series is great. Great code, great designs but on top of all the tech stuff you offer great support and really stand by your children - er I mean product.

  6. Tammy Lenski says:

Brian, I had no idea Revolution was still so young! It’s such a seasoned, well-designed theme that I thought for sure it must be in its middle age by now. Wow…you’ve done incredible work with it.

    Happiest of birthdays!

  7. Jeff Turner says:

Brian, congrats and a question. Any known issues with the WP 2.6 upgrade and the Revolution themes?

  8. Graeme
Thanks so much - I appreciate the comments re: code, as I really try my best to make the code simple and easy to work with!

    Tammy
Thanks - yeah, Rev is still an infant as they say, but should be growing up soon and we’ll see what that leads to!

    Jeff
Nope, my themes were tested with WP 2.6 the day it came out, and there aren’t any known bugs.

    Congrats Brian !! I want the 2nd year to be even more better. A few pointers to what people want;
    Something like this
    http://www.dailywp.com/jobpress-wordpress-theme/
which is influenced by this; http://www.jobberbase.com/ & also classifieds like this http://www.dailywp.com/classipress-wordpress-theme/ but with your special touch.

  10. Brian, I love these themes. In fact shortly this theme will appear on my new website…and if that is OK it will then appear on some of my others! it is high time somebody produced themes that were good enough quality to use for business.

Just a couple of things to consider

(a)It isnt obvious how to get back to the home page on these themes, without using back on the browser

(b)Did you know the “real estate” link on the home page is broken? I found a back door way to get to it, but should fix if I were you!

    (c) If you start an affiliate programme, I think many would be happy to promote you!

  11. Barry O says:

Congratulations Brian. You truly have started a “Revolution” in the way people design and view WordPress. Thanks from me, and I’m sure the 1000’s of others, who have benefited from your first-class work.

    Sincerely, Barry O.

  12. Susan says:

Wow ow about that, a year already… Happy Birthday to the Revolution and Congratulations Brian! I remember the first time I seen it and how many times I would go to look and anxiously wait until I could save up to purchase it!! I absolutely love all my Revolution themes and you always improve them each time you create a new theme. Love the new music theme, that is just awesome!!!

  13. Wow!! Happy birthday to Revolution and congrats to you, Brian. There are sure a lot of blog birthdays this month! Mine was 8/1 :D

  14. Remkus says:

Congrats on the first - of many more to come I´m sure - birthday. Seems like only yesterday I switched from your Detour theme to the first Revolution Theme :d

  15. Josh Bowers says:

WHAT!? It’s been a whole year already!? Eesh.

I was thinking about this a few days ago actually… I had just started learning wordpress like three weeks before your Rev themes came out. Infact one of my favorite themes at the time was your Vertigo themes, which is how I saw your Rev theme when it came out.

Was a little afraid at first to get the Rev theme since I was so new to Wordpress and the whole blogging thing… Boy am I glad I got it! See you tomorrow Brian, and Happy B’day to your wordpress revolutions! We all lovem! They’re so cute and smart… :-)

  16. Jeff Turner says:

    Thanks for the response, Brian.

  17. Jacob Cass says:

Happy Birthday Revolution :) I believe I will be using one of your themes very soon for a client of mine :)

2 for 1 sounds like a great deal!

  18. Hey, just wanted to send a huge thanks to those who’ve left comments recently - I’m currently at WordCamp, so I can’t respond to everyone, but wanted to say that I appreciate all of the kind words!

Wow! One year already. I can still remember as if it were yesterday when you first came out with Revolution and I ran to your site to grab it. :)

Great work Brian and a huge congrats to you.

  24. David Bro says:

    Hey Brian,

I come through every now and then to see whats up. I wrote in a while ago here…but to refresh, I am a freelance editorial photogrpher…newspapers are changing and those that want to survive will have to imerse thenselves in the web…reluctantly, I began several month ago to wade in and now I am having so much fun, its like starting over.

I will be purcahsing one of your themes or maybe a suite…not sure yet…I have plans to have a modest news site and another project up and in diapers by this time next year…

I am a trial and error “hit your finger with the hammer a few times…” type and so I appreciate that you mention that is your system as well…

    My Question:

I downloaded a free theme to practice on…I have to have the wordpress “pizza-dough” laid out before I put your “theme-toppings” on it, I know…but do I have to have a web-host to cook it?

Can I just mix it around on my own, on my computer, seeing what looks good and getting into the code?

I am concerned about having presence on the web before its viewable in a page layout I like…what do you suggest..?

    Thanks,

    David Bro

PS: you guys are riding around on ten speeds and can stay out late…i’m on a big wheel and I have to go in when the street lights come on…sorry, but I appreciate it…

  25. ThemeLib.com says:

Congratulation Brian. Keep up your good work.

    Am I late ? :)

  26. Brian

    Congrats on the first year.

The bug free smooth execution your themes provide are top notch, and you have become the only theme designer I will accept from client’s looking for a blog. Knowing there will be no need to scrap it and choose another theme because the theme they chose didn’t install right and has bugs, has made your themes more reliable than even G-mail!

    You are the man!

    Thank You.
