On the cusp of the New Year, my wife and I sat down and made a list of New Year’s resolutions. I mentioned some of my business ones here, but I also had a few personal ones – one that I wanted to share.
Many of you know that every year I participate in an event called the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day, and have posted many times on my site here asking for donations.
This year, I wanted to go above and beyond my personal involvement with the event, and I am forming a team to walk in the event. Because my wife has decided to crew, at this point I’m walking alone and would love to share the experience with any of you.
So if you live in the Chicago area, or even the Midwest and want to travel, I’m extending the invitation for you to join me for an incredible 3 day journey, that will be something you never forget. Just think, 72 hours of WordPress and blogging discussion, while we’re walking to save lives!
If you want an window into what the event is all about, you can watch this:
Here are a few relevant details about the event:
The Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day is August 7th-9th 2009 and is an amazing 60-mile journey that helps mothers, sisters, spouses, and friends get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Join me for three inspirational days where together we’ll walk so long, so far, and with so much hope, the world will hear our footsteps.
Everyone who participates in the Breast Cancer 3-Day discovers her (or his!) own personal meaning, regardless of their size, age, athletic ability or lack thereof. For some, it’s the overwhelming pride that comes from completing what they thought was impossible. For others, it’s the joy of doing something so big and bold they know they’ve made a difference. And for many, it’s the opportunity to bond with loved ones or forge new friendships that last a lifetime.

Hi Brian
Congrats and good luck on your charity walk – I made a small donation on your behalf. I completed a 100 mile charity bike ride last year for the Leukemia Society and am getting ready to do the Tour de Cure for Diabetes – so I know what a great experience you will have.
Take care!
Hi Brian,
My wife completed the three-day a few years ago, and she had an amazing experience. Cold and rainy (people were huddled together under tents, trying to keep warm before the next day of trekking – ugh!), but very rewarding, she highly recommends the event. Although I am unable to attend that week (August is the busy season for my teambuilding and adventure instruction company) I will make a donation to try to help your cause.
Good luck and thanks for all of the great wordpress themes! Thanks to you, I have finally decided to settle on one theme (Revolution Music) and focus on the content!
Hey Curt – just wanted to say thank you so much for your donation, that was truly appreciated!
Hey Eriq – great to hear your wife participated in the event, so I’m sure even from her stories you can understand my post. Thank you as well for your donation, once again greatly appreciated!
