Introducing the First Revolution Exclusive Theme
I am very happy to announce that Revolution is introducing a new line of exciting exclusive themes. These beautifully designed themes will be limited to 10 copies being sold, and then will be removed “forever”.
The Revolution Exclusive #1 theme is a widget-ready, customizable theme that provide ideal solutions for churches, rock bands or other websites that want the grunge-style look. All exclusive themes will include a PSD file as well. Go on, take it for a test drive!
These themes are sold on a limited basis and the price for each one is $499.95. As an introduction to this exciting new line, I am giving a special launch price available at $399.95 ($100 savings)
until this Sunday, August 31st at 12:00 midnight CST.
Below you will see a screenshot of the first Revolution Exclusive theme:

Proximity News Theme Released
Just wanted to announce that a good friend of mine Nathan Rice has released a new theme – take a look at his Proximity News theme!
Revolution Finally Meets bbPress
I am very happy to announce that Revolution is finally being developed for bbPress. For those of you who don’t know, bbPress is plain and simple forum software, plain and simple. It’s easy to use, easy to administrate, fast and clean. But don’t let its simplicity deceive you; underneath the gleam, it’s got some powerful features and is highly customizable. You can read more about bbPress or download the software.
The first theme that I am working on is the Revolution Magazine bbPress theme. Currently the theme is in 0.1 beta version, so please feel free to provide feedback if you want to take it for a test drive. Since I have never personally used bbPress other than the WordPress support forum, I don’t have a lot of experience, thus the beta testing version.
Feel free to download the theme and take it for a test drive!
Once I have some people test it, and I can work out the bugs, the entire line of Revolution themes will have matching bbPress themes. This is something I am very happy about, and look forward to being able to say that all Revolution themes will have matching phpBB3 and bbPress themes.
Let me know what you think, and how it looks!
Why WordCamp Was Worth Attending
So another weekend goes by, and boy was it a good one – just got back from WordCamp yesterday, and I can certainly assure you that it was money well spent!
Not only was I able to attend the event with a few of my best friends (Cory, Brian, Nathan & Bryan), a number of cool things happened. I will certainly plan to go to WordCamp San Francisco in 2009, and hopefully will stay longer to enjoy the city a whole lot more.
5 things that made WordCamp San Francisco worth attending:
- There were 426 attendees that were there – not including some great speakers like this guy and this guy. I was able to meet a lot of people using Revolution, and it was great to finally put a face to some of the names I’ve seen!
- I learned that a really neat function exists, where you can do a search and see what people are talking about. I think I had this search refreshing all day long to see what was being said.
- On Friday afternoon, we took a spin out to see the Golden Gate Bridge – something I had never seen before in person. You can see proof that I was there.
- I finally met a few people that I have been wanting to meet – guys like Matt Mullenweg, Aaron Brazell, Mark Ghosh, Jason Schuller and Lloyd Budd – and the post WordCamp party was a blast!
- Lastly, and this made the trip worth taking all by itself, I had a fantastic conversation with Automattic’s CEO Toni Schneider about the direction and future of WordPress themes. For those who don’t know, Automattic is the company that developed WordPress, and finally getting to meet Toni (and being fortunate to have 30 minutes of his time) was a huge pleasure. Thanks Toni!
Happy Birthday Revolution
It’s hard for me to believe this, but today I am celebrating Revolution’s first birthday. Yes, one year ago to this date, I released the very first Revolution WordPress theme.
Call me a proud papa, but I thought it would be fun to make this announcement and wish the theme a happy birthday!
To help kickoff the bash, I have officially released the Revolution Music theme, and am also running a very special offer.
I am happy to announce that in celebration of the Revolution Theme’s one year birthday, I am offering a buy one get one free special. After you purchase the Revolution Music theme, you can contact me and I will send you another theme of your choice.
This special only applies to the purchase of the music theme, and includes both the single-use or multiple-use licenses. The offer will last until Sunday August 17th at 12:00 midnight CST.
I also want to send a huge thanks to everyone who has participated in the Revolution – whether you are using a theme, helping with support, or simply have sent encouraging emails – all of it has truly been appreciated by me, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next year with Revolution!
