I must apologize for the change of themes, yet again, with this current version of my site. I feel that an explanation (to some degree) is due as to why I have rebooted so quickly after the previous time.

The answer is simple. I released my Blue Zinfandel themes too soon after I created them for my site. I had such a huge request to offer them to the public, that I chose to go ahead and do it. Here’s a quote from a comment I posted, which should hopefully explain my reasons for this reboot:

I guess if you went out and bought a red corvette, you wouldn’t want to see hundreds of them driving all over town. I feel the same about my website, thus the reboot.

Anyway, the good news is that I am promising that I have no intentions to release this theme to the public. The hardcoding on it is so intense, it would literally be impossible and would take days to wrap it up in nice little package with a bow on top. (Not to mention the main reason I can’t do it is that I’m fairly busy dong freelance work, and don’t have time to offer it freely.)

But please don’t let me scare you away, if you’re looking for a custom theme. I might be busy, but I’m treading water very well. Send me your project scope, and I’ll be happy to work on it for you!

I am about to undergo another major site reboot, once again, because of my overzealousness to offer the Wordpress Community my current theme. Blue Zinfandel and Blue Zinfandel Squared have become two of my most popular themes to date, and have been downloaded thousands of times.

I will say the forthcoming theme for my site will not be released publicly anytime soon. It will take some time to develop, and I am inviting you to go along for the ride. Watch my reboot take place over the coming days.

Enjoy the transformation. I know I’ll enjoy making it.

I’ve read hundreds of threads over at Digital Point about people whining and asking about when the next Google Page Rank Update is going to occur.

I guarantee you that I won’t be one of those people posting there, because I am smart enough not to. Besides, I really don’t want to get my tail kicked like some people do.

I’m just another anxious webmaster, wondering the same thing, so I’ll write a brief, but to the point, letter to our friends in Mountain View, California:

Dear Google,
Please update your page rank!
Sincerely,
Brian

In all honesty, I can wait for this to happen because I know that Google PR value has zero significance in the world of design. It’s just an arbitrary number that people fawn over.

However, seeing the predicted page rank of my site from this tool, I’ll say that part of me is eager to see how accurate the Page Rank Prediction is.

Turbo GadgetsTurbo Gadgets was one of my first custom themes, and was an enjoyable experience. The client was very easy to work with, and gave me some freedom with all aspects of this project - layout, colors, etc. Fonts used were Verdana, Century Gothic and a bit of Trebuchet.

This is amazing. I was checking my blog stats the other day, and nearly fell out of my chair when I saw this graph. I know that Mozilla Firefox was making a name for themselves, but I didn’t realize that this many people were using it for a web browser.

I’ll give credit where it’s due, and say thanks to my friend Amy for introducing me to the little furry fox wrapped around a globe. I love the tabbed browsing, the extensions, and simply the overall feel of Firefox as a web browser.

I will say that I’m still a fan of Microsoft, as MSN is my default home page, and I bounce back and forth between Google and Live Search when I need to look for something.

So take it from my web stats….it looks as though Mozilla Firefox has conquered Internet Explorer. By greater than a 2:1 ratio.
